Today, in honor of his birthday, we commemorate the life and legacy of our founder, Joe Winters. With each passing year, our loss feels deeper and our desire to fulfill his mission grows stronger.
As a loving, respected, and dedicated husband, father, son, brother and uncle, Joe was most known for his leadership role as Long Island’s largest provider of recycling and solid waste services in the region. Joe’s legacy as a steward of the regional environment can only be overshadowed by his dedication to philanthropic initiatives and love for his family.

Joe took his strong work ethic and translated it to his desire to create The Winters Center for Autism. https://youtu.be/TJZbQHS-Zhk

No words can adequately express our sadness and loss associated with Joe’s passing or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him.
We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.

His legacy will live on forever in our hearts as we continue to create a more inclusive and meaningful future for adults with autism.
