We are looking forward to #AIS2024 in just a few weeks.
Autism, best practices, innovation! #autisminvestorsummit Today, Norah, Andrew, and Patrick interviewed at Flagstar bank. We are so proud of each of them for their confidence and preparation. We celebrate them on being hired in their respective roles. Special thanks to Pam, Denise, Karen and Lynn!
#hireforahigherpurpose Ryan and Julie co-presented at Table Wraps yesterday. Table Wraps is a company that rents out linens for event decor. Beginning March 19th, we will have two of our participants transition their training there. Gunjan, the owner asked if we could provide training to his staff about autism, employing individuals with autism, and how a company can support employees with autism.
Most of the employees at Table Wraps speak Spanish. Julie presented in English for those who do not speak Spanish and Ryan presented a second session in Spanish for the rest of the staff. This allowed for the entire staff to have an equal educational opportunity and basic understanding supporting coworkers with autism and our partnership with Table Wraps. It allowed for all members of their team to participate and ask questions. #inspireinclusion #hireforahigherpurpose #winterscenterforautism #AWorldofOpportunities #MotivationalMonday #NewOpportunities Michele Winters, founder of Winters Center for Autism, has pioneered the vision of her late husband Joe and created a job training center for adults with autism. The Center provides job training and placement for young adults and technical support for businesses who are committed to a neurodiverse workforce.
Michele is present, engaged, and inspires our team, businesses, and trainees to create a kinder, more inclusive Long Island community. #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion #hireforahigherpurpose Ryan and Nick are training at Long Island Select Health Care, LISH. Some of their responsibilities include shredding, filling the printers, restocking the linens, and sanitizing the PT equipment. One of the biggest tasks they have been working on is sorting through medical records dating back to the 1950s.
