Another super fun FUNdraiser at Mickeys Ice Cream Kitchen in the books!
Thank you to Brenden Fleming, owner of Mickeys Ice Cream Kitchen, and to all that came from far and near for supporting our mission. We had such a great time with family, friends, and good ice cream. #winterscenterforautism #fundraiser #mickeysicecream

We had some very special visitors from Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team (WWAST NY) at the Center yesterday.
Members of the USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team, Greg and Nick, came to spread their message of “no limits” to our participants and tour our facility. They spoke on messages of overcoming adversity to participants. Every day an adult with Autisim pushes on, not accepting limits. To have these gentlemen at the Center was an event of shared inspiration. We thank them tremendously for touring our Center and sharing their stories. Looking forward to supporting them on July 15 when they are back on Long Island. #FeelGoodFriday #autismacceptance #autismacceptancemonth #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose Today our participants graduated from the St. Joseph's University, Hospitality Profession and Service training!
They have successfully completed 8 training sessions that educated them on hospitality industry skills, knowledge, and connections. Please join us in congratulating them! Thank you to Suffolk County Department of Labor, and St. Josephs University Hospitality manager, Tina, for making this outstanding achievement possible. #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose #stjosephsuniversity Today we had our second annual puzzle-piece pizza party to wrap up #AutismAcceptanceMonth
Participants and local employment partners like Winters Bros., Yonida, and Long Island Select Health Care were invited into the Center to enjoy the delicious pizza, tour the facility, and spread awareness on the importance of #AutismAcceptance. Thank you to Cafe Europa for supplying the pizzas and for generously donating a portion of the proceeds to SEPTA of West Islip. #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose #MojoMonday What a great night at RVC Blue Speaks Light it Up Blue Gala for Autism celebrating love and acceptance for individuals and families affected by autism.
We are deeply humbled by the creation of the annual Joe Winters Legacy Award, which Joe’s wife, Michele Winters, had the honor of presenting to Vicki Schneps at this year's Gala. Thank you to Tony and Mary Lou Cancellieri, John Cameron, and all others involved in making this such a special night. And a big congratulations to Vicki Schneps who is so deserving of the Joe Winters Legacy Award. #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose So exciting to have our friends from Flag & Anthem support the Winters Center for Autism for the second year in a row. Throughout the month of April they have selected our organization to receive a portion of the proceeds from their t-shirt sales.
They have been so generous in providing apparel for hospitality training and desensitization for interview prep purposes. Thank you for coming to tour our space and for the ongoing support! Be sure to check them out and get your #AutismAcceptance T-shirt before the month ends! #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose #FeelGoodFriday #flagandanthem #flagandanthemco Happy #FeelGoodFriday! Check out our participants enjoying this beautiful day with a quick break on our new garden furniture
#winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose It is because of organizations like the Rotary Club of Smithtown that allow us to help support and enhance the lives of adults with autism.
We are overjoyed with gratitude as The Rotary Club of Smithtown Sunrise and Smithtown Town Officials presented a $28,600 donation check raised at last month’s Snow Ball Gala. Thank you to all involved for believing in and supporting our mission. #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose We are so unbelievably grateful for the generosity of the Glen Cove St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee for presenting us with a $10,000 donation.
We couldn’t thank Ryan Doherty enough for selecting our organization as this year’s charity recipient. Ryan did so to honor the memory of his cousin and our founder, Joe Winters. A heartfelt thank you to all involved in supporting and believing in our mission to #hireforahigherpurpose! #winterscenterforautism #mojomonday #motivationmonday We are so happy to start #WorldAutismMonth off strong by announcing our new Employment Partnership with Jake's 58 Casino Hotel and Suffolk OTB.
We thank Phil Boyle and the entire Jake’s 58 team for #HiringforaHigherPurpose. As part of the Employment Partner Outreach Program, we were invited to speak at today’s conference, tour the facility to learn of opportunities for trainees and see how the business operates. For the month of April, Jake’s 58 and Suffolk OTB have set their “Donate Your Change” machines to donate to our organization. We are so grateful for the opportunity and for their support of our mission. #winterscenterforautism #hireforahigherpurpose #jakes58casino #suffolkotb #autismawareness #autismacceptance |
